THE FRIENDLIEST AIRPORT

Elliot Lake is located in northern Ontario, Canada, near the intersections of Wiarton to Wawa and Sudbury to Sault Ste Marie. Our airport is a logical stop as a destination or for rest and fuel while transiting through the area just north of Lake Huron.

Many who have stopped for the first time are amazed at our facility and the friendliness. They leave with the promise to return again and to tell their aviation friends of their discovery.

Mr. Rick Durden, a well known American aviation writer, on the topic of "The User Friendly Airport", wrote this for AVweb, the most read Aviation Website.

"......Hire employees who are people friendly. The best I have ever seen anytime, anywhere, were a few years ago when I made some trips into Elliot Lake, Ontario, Canada. They were employed by the government entity that runs the modest-sized airport, and were the most wonderful, helpful airport employees I've ever had the pleasure to meet........."

We invite pilots to check out our unique terminal, use our kitchen and barbecue facilities, have a private meeting or conference in our Avro Room, or use our library to research a myriad of aviation topics. These are but a few possibilities.

Our community specializes in every aspect of outdoor activity from the passive to International Extreme competitions, in all seasons, physical or motorized.

For those interested in golf, our golf course is located 2 miles away.

You will find our airport is very informal, well maintained, and the friendly staff is always eager to assist you.
